Soda Stream?

We've been making apple juice, carrot juice, apple/celery, etc. and sometimes mix it with seltzer water for a soda like drink that we REALLY enjoy. I love the bubbliness of soda, but I donm't want the HFC or the sugar OR artificial sweeteners.
Does the soda stream make just seltzer like stuff that we could add our juice to? How much does it end up costing with supplies? Does the stuff taste good? Is it as bubbly as soda? Does the carbonation last?
I really want to save up for one, especially now that the price has dropped significantly, but I don't want to buy it just to find out we don't like it. Thoughts?
